TidySpace
Understand what uses your storage, review it, and remove only what you choose. In development; not yet available for download.

TidySpace is a Windows storage utility built around one rule: show people what is happening before asking them to delete anything.
What the current build shows
The Home workbench shows drive capacity, the next scan or review action, and recorded cleanup history across seven or thirty days. Junk Cleaner, Duplicate Files, and Disk Analyzer lead into a shared Cleanup Queue. The current preview is captured in TEST MODE.
Disk Analyzer supports Tree and Columns navigation alongside a treemap. Duplicate comparison distinguishes exact matches from similar pictures. Findings are prepared for review before removal; inspecting or selecting a file is not the same as deleting it.
Design story
Start with the state of the drive
Home answers three questions: how much space is available, what can be inspected next, and what has already been cleaned. Recorded history is separate from a scan's findings, so potential cleanup does not read as space already recovered.
Keep investigation separate from removal
The tools help people inspect different kinds of evidence. A file tree gives familiar paths, a treemap shows relative size, and duplicate comparison keeps candidate files together. The shared queue provides a deliberate place to review a proposed cleanup before acting.
Explain an empty result
No recent scan, an empty scan, and no cleanup history are different states. The interface gives each a plain explanation and a useful next action. A quiet result is valid; the product does not need to manufacture urgency.
What we care about
- Explain what is taking space before asking the user to remove it.
- Make destructive actions explicit and reversible where possible.
- Keep technical detail available for people who want it.
- Distinguish recommendations from risk.
- Say plainly when there is nothing useful to clean.
- Never use warnings to frighten people into deleting files.
